ContactKE is the West Midlands’ intelligence hub that allows businesses to access, and benefit from, the many resources and capabilities available through the region’s universities.

Two aims drive ContactKE, firstly to stimulate and articulate intelligent demand from business and secondly to increase the capability of universities to respond to identified business needs.

Businesses wanting support or assistance in specific industries can be sure that ContactKE is able to direct them to the most suitable expertise to address their needs.

How additive layer manufacturing can help reduce time to market - Friday, June 06, 2008

In this half day seminar we look at how new Additive Layer Manufacturing (ALM) processes are being used to respond to these very real business pressures, and how universities across the West Midlands can help your business to implement new prototyping, casting, tooling and direct manufacturing solutions.

We will look at where ALM technologies have come from and the current state of the art in their use today. We will look at the move towards direct part manufacture using ALM, the supply chain benefits and technological limitations of this manufacturing approach.

We will consider how these technologies are likely to be developed and adopted over the coming decade.
